On April 23rd 2018 I had the privilege of being interviewed by Lisa Shaw on her mid-morning Radio Show.
You can only imagine how nervous I was to be invited to the BBC to talk about my couture millinery business and how I had become so fascinated by all the creativity that the ancient handmade craft of millinery engenders, Lisa was incredibly welcoming, bright, bubbly, encouraging yet business-like. She immediately set me at my ease and my time talking to her flew over. After the occasion, I wrote a blog post about the experience of being interviewed for BBS Radio Newcastle.
So after the traumatic events of the last 18 months, it was with great sadness that I learnt of Lisa’s passing. Remembering Lisa and to recognise her professionalism, the loss to the BBC and the city of Newcastle I thought it appropriate to republish the blog post – link below – that I wrote in April 2018; in recognition that yet another young family has lost an irreplaceable mother, wife, sister and daughter to Covid 19, and the North East a truly great broadcaster.
