REAL CHANGE FOR REAL FAMILIES
Every food box, volunteer hour, and community partnership helps bring dignity, stability, and hope to families across the North East.
Feeding Families works with schools, housing providers, charities and health services to get food and essential supplies directly to people when they need them most.
Together with our volunteers, donors and partners, we are building a safety net for families across our region.

HOW OUR SUPPORT WORKS
Feeding Families operates through a network of trusted community partners who understand the needs of their local areas.
Through this partnership model we provide:
- Emergency food boxes.
- Nutritious long-life food for individuals and families facing crisis.
- Low-cook and no-cook food boxes.
- Support for people living in temporary accommodation or struggling with energy costs.
- Toiletry and essential packs.
- Basic hygiene items for people who cannot afford everyday essentials.
- Support during life transitions.
Helping people moving into new homes, leaving care, escaping domestic abuse, or rebuilding after crisis.
This approach allows us to respond quickly and reach people who might otherwise fall through the gaps.

FLORENCE'S STORY: FROM SURVIVING TO SUPPORTING OTHERS

When Florence fled a domestic violence relationship, she found herself homeless and struggling to survive day-to-day. With no stable home and limited access to basic essentials, life felt like it was spiraling out of control. Through our partner organisation Doorways, Florence received rough sleeper packs, hygiene kits, and emergency food from Feeding Families — practical support that helped her get through the hardest period of her life.
Today, Florence’s life is moving forward. She now lives in temporary accommodation and volunteers regularly at Doorways, using her lived experience to support others facing similar challenges.
Her story shows how timely, dignified support can help someone survive crisis — and go on to help others.

As Florence says:
That support helped me survive when I was homeless… It meant I could focus on getting back on my feet.
