HELP COLLECT THE FOOD FAMILIES NEED MOST
We need a constant flow of food into our packing centres to support families across the North East. Each food box contains 20 items - so you can imagine how much food is needed to respond to demand.
Foodraising is simple, but it changes lives. By collecting food in your workplace, school, community group - or even with friends and neighbours - you help fill cupboards and put meals on the table for families who would otherwise go without.

ORGANISE A FOOD COLLECTION
A simple way to support families.
You can arrange a food collection in many settings, including:
- Workplaces
- Schools
- Villages, estates, or streets
- Community groups and local organisations.
WHAT TO DONATE
Helping us pack food boxes efficiently
We ask for specific item sizes so that donations fit into our standard food boxes. While oversized items are very generous, they are often too bulky to pack and distribute.
Using our food collection list helps ensure donations can be used quickly and included in boxes for families who need them.
HOW WE SUPPORT YOU
Guidance every step of the way.
If you would like to organise a food collection, we can support you by providing:
- Collection boxes where available
- Flyers listing the items needed
- Advice on planning and donating your collection
FOODRAISING STORY
CHARLIE’S CHRISTMAS APPEAL

Charlie, a North East teenager, has been supporting Feeding Families’ Christmas Appeal for several years, proving that you’re never too young to make a difference. Inspired to help families facing hardship, Charlie organises collections and encourages others in his community to donate food and essentials for Christmas boxes.
His efforts help ensure families across the region can enjoy a meal together during the festive season. Charlie’s story shows how one person’s kindness can inspire a whole community to take action.

I just want to help families have a better Christmas.
Charlie
